Hello Peter, For the past 2 months, all my calls to my 86 year old mother in Australia are ruined every few seconds and then dropped. It is so, so stressful for both of us. In order to keep in touch with my dear Mother, I pay R199 per month to Vodacom in South Africa for a 24 month Wi-Fi contract. I also pay monthly subscription to Skype for " fair usage" on Unlimited Calls to Australia. Our conversations have deteriorated into "Can you hear me now? " "I'm still here..." "I'll try and call again .." The call is then dropped. I call again and again, but with no better luck - the fractured calls break up and are dropped each time.
What am I paying for? It is breach of contract NOT to supply what I am paying for. I wish to cancel this Vodacom Wi-Fi contract, yet Vodacom requests the totally unreasonable, outrageous and unacceptable "premature cancellation penalty " of R2089 - which is three quarters of balance of contract remaining, when they are not even providing the service I am paying for!
Yours faithfully, Tracy KA Ansdell
