A 52 day old (new) Nokia cell phone - unable to hold charge or start up -was handed in for repair in Somerset West on 28/12/2013.By 24/01/2014 no phone available yet - still at the Repair Centre in Johannesburg. Eight days later and after numerous inconsistent reports, I was advised that a replacement phone was available for collection, but it was a another model and a greatly inferior model. I refused to accept the inferior phone supplied on ZERO CONSULTATION. The Somerset West Repair Centre then returned the device to Johannesburg. The unit would be replaced with the correct model ONLY when the unacceptable model was returned to Johannesburg. Another major delay - and NOT WILLING to change procedures even though they were at fault. The correct model now due for delivery - 4 February 2014 i.e. 36 days after after repair was registered. Vodacom had ZERO CONSULTATION in the beginning and then evidenced ZERO COMPASSION even though it was their fault. It will be 36 days at least before an irate customer receives a replacement unit.
