During December I noticed that my ADSL line was syncing 10 MB (down) and 1 MB (up), and early January 2014 I received an email from Afrihost that Telkom had "upgraded" my line to 10 MB and that I could either upgrade to 10 MB or stay on my 4 MB package for R100 less per month.
I decided to stay on the 4 MB package. Once I completed the online response to email, I received a notification that my line is going to be downgraded back to 4 MB. This however should not affect anything as I was still "limited" to 4 MB on the ISP side even though my line was syncing at 10 MB.
Ever since the "downgrade" my ADSL line has been shocking, which it never used to be! I have had a support case open for longer than a week (14 Jan 2014), submitted all the information they want, reset routers, ping tests, upload tests etc. but I am still battling! Online gaming has become playable and the ADSL line is just a waste now.
Out of desperation I submitted a request to Afrihost to please upgrade my ADSL to the 10 MB package, and guess what, now they say 10 MB is not supported in my area. Is this a joke...?
