My iphone 4s has no volume, the phone does not ring nor does it beep when a message is received. We find out that this is a known problem with a certain batch of iphone 4s and are in possession of the written release from vodacom that they are aware of the problem and you must bring your phone in to for a swop out but this will only be done if the phone is still under warranty meaning within the first year of purchase. As a nashua mobile subscriber I take the phone in, show them the written release from vodacom and explain that we are experiencing that exact issue. The phone gets booked in, spends 5 weeks with the technical department and today I get a call to be told water damage and now no longer under warranty cost of repair is R3 000-00.

This phone has never ever been near water, in fact it does not even have one scratch on the phone!!! An absolute made up to negate on responsibility.

When discussing this today with numerous people, i have now come across another 2 people whom are experiencing the same issue.

You got to love the excuse to get out of any situation by these cellphone providers..."water damage"' shocking and it took 5 weeks to tell me that lie.
