Cell C
Letter of Demand

I took out a two-year contract with Cell C for 2 Blackberrys which ended Aug 2013. I did the necessary on my side to make arrangements for contracts to be cancelled and to make final payments. Got all the info from call centre, went to Nedbank branch to make payment, called Cell C back to check that everything was in order in terms of no other monies owing, and that the contracts in fact were cancelled. Calls are supposed to be recorded (is it?) as per the disembodied voice who notified me of it when I called. It is now the middle of Jan 2014 and I get a letter of final demand stating that if not paid within 7 days, blah, blah, blah... And to top it all, the letter went to our old home address which we haven't lived at for almost 2 years (March 2014 to be exact!). I even called Cell C to change address and was assured it was done. I kept phoning a few times after I made final payment, and was assured that account was in order, and that I was moved to the prepaid customer so that I could keep my number. Five months later I have to go search for a payment I made in Aug 2013, and have to fax it to them as proof of payment. Anyone want to join my crusade to picket outside Cell C
