I had an account with Neotel for a few years and cancelled it in Mar 2013. In November I received an Invoice for R4.92 which is very strange seeing that this was paid by debit order AND CANCELLED. I queried this via email and never heard anything about it again so I assumed problem solved.
Yesterday I went to have my cell contract upgraded and it was declined because I was listed for bad debt. After I got a report from Transunion I phoned Neotel and it turned out that I was listed for R0.50c.
Apart from the costs involved phoning around at Pay As You Go cell rates, it was extremely embarrassing being told in a shop full of people that you have been declined.
If I had the time and money I would sue the out of them - PATHETIC
