Warranty claim not honoured

My iPhone 4s had an Wifi connecting issue and I booked it at the MTN Repair Centre in Midrand for repair as the phone was not even a year old. I followed up the next day and was informed that the phone was ready for collection. Upon my arrival I was informed that the phone was irrepairable. When asking for an explanation it was said that there was a sticker missing inside the phone wherby they claimed the phone was tampered with and the warranty has fallen away and I need to claim from my insurance. I then explained to them that the phone was still under warranty and it is the first time my phone was ever brought in for repair. I certainly would not have taken it anywhere else as the warranty was still active. No where in their report it claimed that the phone was previously opened and I questioned that and asked for a manager to call. I then waited for a couple of days for the call. Not getting the call after a few days I phoned back and soke to a Kushal. He reitterated what the report claimed and I asked him to please get the Manager to contact me to discuss. Almost a week has passed and the Manager is yet to phone. This is maybe one tactic to avoid warranty claims! Unacceptable.
