Ridiculous service policy

IPhone5 damaged, screen loose and would like it serviced according to the warranty received when purchasing the device.

I was told that the standard procedure is to send device away for 7-10 days and that no loan units are available. With the reliance on cellphones clearly that turn-around time does not seem reasonable.

I would be prepared to schedule an appointment at a local walk-in service centre however I was told that all servicing and repairs are done in Johannesburg.
