For more than a year now we have been complaining to Telkom about our intermittent internet issues. One moment our service is ok, the next it is very slow, and the next it is nonexistent. This is totally unacceptable.
We have contacted Telkom several times regarding the issue, and each time I ask that a QUALIFIED technical person WHO CAN SPEAK MY LANGUAGE contact me so that I can explain my situation in detail, thereby helping them to pinpoint the problem. They never call back, instead only sending an SMS a few days later to say that the issue has supposedly been resolved. This is despite them not once even coming to the premises to check on the fault.
Every time we contact them to complain they simply reset the port and tell us that ADSL is a "best effort service". If that is the case, then from now on we should all operate on a "best effort payment" to Telkom, and only pay for the level of service we receive for the month. And in my case, that would be R0.00.
