I transferred my cellphone contract from my father's business account into my own name on the upgrade of my cellphone, to which I also amended my cellphone package. On being assisted by one of the staff members at Hout Bay VodaShop I was asked if I wanted to insure my IPhone 5, to which I agreed. Unfortunately on 29 December 2013 my phone was, when putting in a claim I was then advised that I was only covered up to the value of R5000. The other gentleman who assisted me could not understand why I had been insured for such a little, as an IPhone has never been of such a low value. So because of the incompetence of one staff member incorrectly insuring me, as I have no immediate contact with Vodacom's insurance provider Cellsure - I had no idea, and then had to pay a further R4700.00 to get a new IPhone. I feel completely and utterly robbed by Vodacom as well as Cellsure. This is unacceptable, as I would have had no problem ensuring that I was correctly insured in order to avoid such a problem.
