Billed for a number swop on a new contract

I was on a Redbull mobile contract and moved to a Cell C contract. The only way to do this was to go through a porting process. It was required that I get a Cell C simcard. To do this I was given a Cell C prepaid simcard and on which a number swop was done to keep my number. I was informed in store that there will be no cost implications, but I was billed R250 for the number swop. The fact is that if I upgraded from any other service provider I would not have incurred any charges and Redbull mobile is administrated by Cell C.

I thought this only happened with my wife's contract (who upgraded on the same day), which could not be rectified after numerous calls to customer but was later rectified outside the regular customer care service. During this process it was confirmed that there are no number swop costs for customers upgrading from Redbull mobile to Cell C.

I am very disappointed by this development and that on top of the hours and hours I had to spend in the Cell C store for the call centre operators at Cell C to figure our how their own systems work.
