MTN has deceived me AGAIN!!! I called 808 (Customer services) yesterday to sort out a problem THAT MTN CAUSED FOR ME!!! As expected, no customer service agent really knows what to do or how to help you when the issue becomes a little complicated, so they pass you on to this and that department! But this is the catch... If they redirect your call, it is not necessarily a free call anymore. But they do not warn you that you will be charged for the call. They simply redirect your call to a department they THINK will be able to help you. And trust me, in most cases the next department ALSO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO HELP YOU!!! The staff at MTN is incompetent, deceitful and useless.
This is not the first time I have been deceived by MTN. When I opened my contract I asked how much the out of bundle data rates are on my MTN100 subscription. I was told 29c. I was shocked when I saw my first bill. It was actually 65c per Meg out of bundle. What was MTN's response to my grievance? Sorry, they 'misinformed you'. I've started migrating to Telkom Mobile. What a pleasure to deal with them. Better signal and customer service. I recommend everyone do the same.
