SIM SWOP FRUSTRATION

I had to have a SIM swop done due to my handset being lost. I received my new sim on the 7th of December @ 16:33pm. I was told that the sim card is usually activated within 2hrs - 24hrs but because it was the the weekend, that it was possible that it would only be activated on Monday. I made 3 calls to follow up on Monday; 2 to the call centre and 1 to the store directly. I was told that it was pending on the network and nobody could tell me when it would be activated. It is now Tuesday and it is still unregistered. The MTN customer care line cannot activate sim cards any more so it is pointless even calling them. My wife is with Vodacom, 2 weeks ago she had to get a replacement sim card, it was issued on a weekend as well and within the hour it was activated, not to mention that a replacement sim costs half as much at vodacom with it being R136.80 at MTN. Double the price for the same peace of plastic and even worse service. I will not be renewing my contract with MTN once they are expired. I will seek better service elsewhere.
