I just moved house, less than 2km from my previous residence. I had a telkom ADSL line and was advised that I should contact them when i am ready to have the line transfered. I did so on Monday and was surprised to be told that they donot have the infrastructure to transfer my line. The exchange is full and I need to wait until next year March when they do an upgrade. I now need to be placed on a waiting list in order to get the service. Is this a joke, why do you advertise for your new data speeds and new offerings when you donot have the capacity to take on new clients. Furthermore I am expected to continue paying for a service that i am not going to be receiving.
Please can someone from Telkom call and attempt to explain this to me especially considering the fact that the previous resident had an ADSL line installed.
