Uncapped line being throttled

After using Cybersmart for 3 months we noticed intermittent slow response to various sites. Our immediate thought was ADSL line problems running speed test shows good connection speed, yet some sites at random seems to be just slow. Since the beginning of the 4 month (contract with Cybersmart) my son complained of not being able to connect to any Minecraft server. We phone Cybersmart today to verify any error or throttling on our account. They confirmed good standing of the account without any throttling. They blame our problem on Telkom upgrades. We decided to test it and to subscribe to another ISP. Immediately thereafter all our problems disappeared. Our son happily playing Minecraft again and all the other slow response problems had disappeared. Interesting the ISP speed test result for the new ISP appears worst than Cybersmart but with much better service. So beware Cybersmart throttles clients after three months withoutthe client reaching the set 300 GB cap per month.
