I would like to report that Vodacom sim swap service has disappointed and frustrated me to say the very least. My phone was 2 days ago, which was a traumatic experience and inconvenience in itself.
I went to Vodacom with the account holder's ID and signed letter of consent, yesterday morning, and proceeded to do a sim swap with one of the consultants a Gateway. She assured me that the sim swap had been initiated and that within 4 hours, all would be back to normal and I would be able to use my sim card for calls, internet etc. 5 hours later, this was not the case, so I called the customer service line, only to be told that they could not help me unless they spoke directly to the account holder. I called my father (the account holder), and he then called Vodacom. I then spoke to the consultant again, and she told me there had been a problem with the sim unlocking (which i had not been informed about prior to enquiring) and she had now unlocked it (she assured me this). I was told to wait 6 hours. The following day, I called again, since I still had not received ANYTHING, I referred my father again, and I was promised EXACTLY what was said yesterday. Still no success!
