Vodacom costs me R552 in bank penalty fees

My Vodacom post-paid account was recently due for R311.50. I received an email notification from Vodacom on 06 Nov 2013, telling me I had 7 days to pay the outstanding amount of R411.50. I don't know where the extra R100 came from, but I paid the outstanding amount (R411.50) via EFT the same day.

THE NEXT DAY, with 6 days still to go until the payment was due, Vodacom debited my bank account not once, but 4 TIMES! All 4 debit orders were returned unpaid by my bank, costing me R138 in penalty fees each time = R552.

Even as I write this, I should still have 2 days left to pay the outstanding balance.

What happened Vodacom?

Unfortunately I was retrenched a while back, and cannot get an overdraft at the bank while I'm not working. My bank doesn't really care about my problems, even though their slogan goes something about how they can help me, but that's another story.

To Vodacom: Please check your records, and reverse the 4 debit orders in question. I would also like you to refund me the R552 bank penalty charges I have to pay. My bank account was in good order until the Vodacom debit orders were processed incorrectly.

I have no other problems with Vodacom's service.
