I am in debt of over R5000.00 for a handset I have never owned. I had a contract with MTN which was cancelled when the contract period ended. A few months after they acknowledged the cancellation I received a statement at my work address, of which for the 24 months I had a contract they sent all correspondence to my home address.
I called their call centre and told them that I didn't own the number and did not receive the handset I'm being charged for. I asked that I get shown proof that I signed up for this new contract; got told they are not in a position to show me the application form unless I send an affidavit. I then went to the police station and spent my lunch time there just to get this out of the way. I faxed the affidavit but have not received the proof I asked for till now instead I am being harassed by calls and emails from MTN Legal representatives.
I want this off my back but I'm not surprised no one from MTN is willing to show me the application form.
Due to the stress im suffering from the calls and emails; I regret the day I signed up for my 1st and only contract with this service provider.
