Last Sunday the 6th I took out a data contract on my existing prepaid number at a Vodashop at Wonderpark mall. On Tuesday I received an sms stating that a 200 top up contract had been activated. Later in the afternoon I called customer care and they confirmed I had taken out a top up contract. After explaining myself I was transfered to contract cancellations dept and a gentleman there assured me the contract would be cancelled. On Wednesday Caroline from Wonderpark called me to explain that she'd made a mistake and that the contract had been cancelled. Because of the inconvenience I had been thru she was going to give me a modem for free. She further told me she would be activating the 2gig contract that I had applied for originally. I accepted and all was well. This morning, Friday, I get an sms from my bank that vodacom has debited my account for an amount of R304. When I call customer care they confirm it is for the top up contract which was supposedly cancelled. The lady kindly tells me I have to fax my bank statement as proof of payment for the top up. At whose expense may I ask? Who made the mistake? I want my money back and I am not faxing no statement.
