Can only reverse charges AFTER reported to police

Hi there,

My Sim card was, but all my data was used plus it went over my data bundle so I got charged per mb data rate after that.

My complaint is very simple, I have asked if it is possible for me to retrieve the data that was used during the time that the sim card was not in my possession.

I was told that I can only reverse charges that happened AFTER I reported it to the police.

The first thing I did when I realized that the sim card was was call mtn to stop it.. I realized it was when I was told that all my data was used and that my bill will be somewhat higher next month. - IS THIS NOT THE RIGHT THING TO DO? was I supposed to leave it to keep going into the negative balance while I stand in line at the police station and file a report?

I have reported this to the police and have a case number if you like.
If anyone put some time in to investigate this, you would see that I was nowhere near my sim card during the time the data was used. and then see that I wasn't the one to benefit from Mtn's services during that time.
The last time I recall using the sim card was on the 26th of September (1.4gb), I realized it was on the 2nd of October (0gb)
