DATA BUNDLE LOST DUE TO DIFFERENT PHONE (CONTRACT)

In April 2013 I took out a contract on a straight up 400. At that time I decided I would like to try the Samsung S4 and took this phone with the contract. I soon realized that I hated the phone and went and bought myself a iphone 5. I went into the centurion mall Cell C branch and asked them to do a sim swop for me as the iphone requires the smaller sim card. At the time I did not realize that with the sim swop that you had to activate the apple apn settings. I became aware that suddenly I could not use data on my iphone anymore. I went into the store and they told me that the data bundle was coupled to the S4 and I will not be able to use the data on my iphone. Now my question is how can you couple a contract to a specific phone, data is data and has nothing to do with what phone u use. They should have told me this with the sim swop. Cell C has refused to activate my data bundle and is telling me I should by additional data on my contract. So I'm paying for a contract and only getting my minutes and sms's, but no data because I don't have my sim in a S4. Scenario: Buy contract, phone gets, can't afford new S4, buy other phone, no more data. Does not make sense.
