Cancellating Contract that ends December 2013

My mom's contract number has been cancelled without notice or justification as the contract only expires at the end of December 2013

A consultant from 8ta called my dad, and offered him an upgrade. When my dad declined the upgrade, the consultant cancelled the contract. Did the consultant do this out of spite as he was not able to make a sale?

Surely this is not legal??

Honour the contract and switch on the cellphone!
