I have been a Vodacom user for over 10 years, from contract to prepaid. I recently decided to go back on to prepaid. I went through the whole process of applying for the phone online and everything ran smoothly and I received my phone in a short period of time.
Once I had received my phone and it was activated they had given me a new number instead of a sim swop as requested, so I could not use my phone. After a million calls back and forth and being told a different story from each consultant, saying I have to cancel my contract then re open it in order to keep my number, then I was told that no Idont have to cancel they have requested a sim swop (last Friday) Yesterday I call (wednesday) to find out when will my sim swop happen they told me it will be within the day but they are working on a back log. So I call today and the lady tells me I have to go buy a new sim card and there is no sim swop activated!!!
So I told them to cancel the contract, which didnt bother the operator at all, as a person who deals with Brands and brand management Vodacoms lack of care that a LOYAL customer no longer wants to deal with Vodacom should be a big worry for you but it isnt.
Pathetic!
