I've been having intermittent issues on my ADSL line since middle December 2012. I logged a call with Telkom (Ref: 320CTK111212). A couple of days later the problem was sorted but the line remained VERY prone to dropping and gave a lot of sync issues.
On Sunday the 13th of January the line dropped again, completely this time. I spoke to Telkom who said that a cable was damaged in the area and approx. 1, 200 users were affected. 2 weeks later and NOTHING has changed. Line is still as dead as it was on Sunday the 13th.
In the meantime, the call I logged (320CTK111212) is STILL open and STILL "being attended to by technicians.
This means Telkom's technicians are so slow that they can't fix a cable problem in a month and a half.
Utterly unacceptable and one can only lament the lack of any competition in the fixed line providers in SA.
