Line dead due to cable hijack!

Since 14th of March once again the telephone line went dead and it is still down. This is due to cable beeing hijacked. In the past year each month we suffer up to 10 days without service due to cable hijacks. Often several houses in the neighborhood are affected. We understand that cable hijack is not Telkom's fault, but still we believe that there is a possible resolution to the problem and it in Telkom's hands. The cable hijacks happens on President Fouche Drive. The way we see it the cable must be moved to the poles that are on the inner side of the area, because there is a security check point and it would be much more difficult to it. We have spoken with technicians about these incidents numerous times but still all that is done is to replace the cable and no plan has been made to move it to safer location. As far as we know Telkom is now outsourcing some of its duties to private companies. We are beginning to think that someone is getting busy by constantly "replacing cables". We have come to the point where we can no longer stand this and we want a more lasting solution or an official notice that it cannot be done in this area.
