Changing Contract to prepaid =airtime&bundles gone

My contract has ended and i decided to change from Contract to prepaid. At the branch they said that i need to use my airtime (which i was already debited for) within 24 hours. About 2 hours later, my airtime and bundles were gone, my BIS was deactivated with no fore warning. This is a rip off and I will follow up on this with the Consumer protection act to find out if this is even legal. As i had paid for this and now they just took it away. Need this sorted and i will definitely be changing my service provider if this is how MTN operates.
