SNEAKY when you need to cancel your "month to mont

A month ago I decided to cancel my service with AFRIHOST due to a lack of connectivity and high amount of down times. when I signed up with them I was told that I could cancel at any time. I canceled with them a month in advance explained why and all the guy then told me to cancel on the client zone. NOW they only canceled my data package and not my DSL line. so I am unable to migrate without them releasing it, AND I need to pay them an extra month without getting any service,
VERY ANNOYED and really disappointing,
