I was in possession of a prepaid mobile number (0768946051) used soley for my 3G card. This number was kept as a backup, for evening and weekend access to the internet, as I have access to a LAN during office hours only.
Over and above having to use prepaid airtime before the end of the month following that of loading, or forfeit the balance, I was shocked to discover when I went to buy additional airtime that because I had not used the specific number for a lengthy period Vodacom, without any notification to me deleted the number in question. An employee of Vodacom told me the number can not be re-instated. Not only do I have to buy another starter pack I also have to go thruogh the whole RICA process for a new number again.
I wonder what would happen if someone who owns a fully paid for holiday flat somewhere and for whatever reason does not use the facilty for a lengthy period. Would the owner of the block of flats be entitled to just cancel the persons ownership as Vodacom have done with something I paid for upfront and therefor was my legal possession
