I have bought an airtime contract from MTN - MTN Anytime 500. The package advertised by MTN states that I will get R500 airtime, 500 SMS, 500mb data and 60 minutes MTN to MTN minutes. MTN's advertising is misleading - they do not state on their material that you only may use the free 60 minutes MTN to MTN, once you have completely depleted the R500 airtime sold with the package. I have bought this package alongside an additional package for my mother with the idea that I will be able to use the free 60 minutes MTN to MTN without using the R500 airtime. I only found out post facto that there are terms and conditions to the "free 60 minutes MTN to MTN." This was NOT explained to me before the signing of the agreement, but only once I have requested account detail. I have subsequently visited the MTN shop at Canal Walk and received incorrect information from both sales / customer service representatives. They only admit to the "catch" once I make them aware of it. I have also asked them to review the contract and they could not point out to me where the specific conditions are written in the contract. I feel I have been misled by MTN into buying more expensive contract.
