I purchased a domain name online from Afrihost using their online domain checker and paid R300 for registration into my name. They sent FTP usernames and passwords. I spent approx. 20 hours designing a new website and when I came to upload, FTP passwords were invalid! They then emailed me saying that to purchase a .pro domain I must send them all my professional credentials. After sending them all my professional credentials as requested by Afrihost they sent me a simple note saying the domain name requested is not available! Not even offering to re-imburse me for the initial purchase/contract fee of R300 but no compensation for wasting over twenty hours of my time either! They only offered to re-imburse me for the R300 domain name registration only AFTER I reminded them that I had paid it! They even deducted a monthly fee thereafter even though they were aware that I never owned the domain name I had bought thru them. Afrihost are normally good but this is shocking!!! I want some compensation for the 20 hours I laboured in vain for THEIR stupid mistake!! Let's see if CEO Gian Visser will honor his commitment to his customers and his company and personally reply hereto.
