I have only one account with MTN, with one cell phone number attached thereto.
When my monthly debit was deducted from my account in July, it was MASSIVELY escalated (by approximately five times the normal). After a number of enquiries, I discovered that 4 additional numbers had been added to my account. These numbers were clearly as a result of and/or identity.
I followed up with Mahlane from the MTN call centre and actually received positive feedback, in terms of which it seemed the /identity had been acknowledged and was in the process of being dealt with.
On Friday 2 August I was once again debited for the 4 numbers, despite my correspondence with the call centre.
MTN now owes me more than 10 times my normal monthly fee with no end in sight.
Unfortunately this is not the first run-in that I have had with MTN's accounts department, with them initially failing to debit my account and cutting me off.
I will be suing them shortly however, hopefully that will initiate some decent customer relations.
