Bought my phone x2 in Feb, Paint chipped off keypad, reported in Apr.
I am now beside myself regarding the disgusting service from Nokia! 3 months down the line, I was sent on a wild goose chase to Mtn, Montagu Gardens, on Fri who turned me away as they could not help me, as this is a Nokia problem!
I was told that if MTN looked at it, all my data would be removed from the phone as this is mandatory & I would have to book the phone in for the repairs. On Mon I was back at Century city to have all my data saved onto a computer at Nokia. Tues it was back to Montagu Gardens to book my phone in, only to be told later in the day that it will cost me R470 to replace the cover! The phone only cost R800. What an absolute rip off. While Nokia advised that the issues were a factory defect, MTN had the cheek to tell me that the paint chipping off is because of my nails? This phone is only 6 months old and still in warranty. There was nothing on the packaging or in the warranty manual stating that if you have nails, the paint will chip off the keypad.
I went back to Nokia and am awaiting feedback. I left a message that Shabir (Manager of Nokia care centre) should contact MTN. - No response
