Telkom Mobile- Shocking Service

My 8ta cell phone contract with Telkom Mobile was due to expire 07.07.2013 and I contacted 8ta in May to find out the procedure. I needed to give 30 days notice of cancellation, which I did and scanned a letter and copy of I.D and stating that I wanted to keep my number as a pre-paid one. I followed up and phoned 8ta Customer care line three times and they keep telling me that cancellations are in another dep. which I can not contact directly and if I sent an e-mail then it will be done. I went into Telkom Amanzimtoti branch twice to see whether they have received my cancellation. Once they told me they could not help me and I must phone customer care and once someone helped me - only to find out that my case has been CLOSED, because 8ta's technicians can't get hold of me on my phone!!! I have 3 case numbers and my cancellation gets cancelled because they can't get hold of me. I have told them I teach and only answer my phone in the afternoons. It is almost the end of month again and 8ta still can't tell me if my contract will be cancelled??? How do I get this contract cancelled?? With other cell phone service providers, cancellation takes place via phone and within 24hours.
