Data bundle expiry - Notice not given to custome

I recently purchased data for my prepaid number for the first time on MTN. I purchased a 1Gb data bundle via Standard Bank Online Banking and successfully loaded it on my phone. Now 2 months later with approximately 400Mb still left, it has dissapeared and is now zero. I called the MTN customer care number 173 where the call center agent proceeded to tell me that the data had expired. I argued that there was no notice of this expiry date on the Standard Bank Online Banking website. He insisted that me getting an sms after the purchase with the expiry date attached is valid enough notice and that is how MTN operates. I argued that it is ridiculous to tell someone that something they purchased has an expiry date after they have made the payment. He still argued that if I had bought a physical voucher that it has the expiry date on it. I still argued that I only use Online Banking for my airtime purchases and he was still adamant and refused to refund me. I think it is ridiculous that these expiry dates are not transparent to consumers on portals such as Internet Banking. I think MTN owes me an apology and to refund me the balance of the data that I had in my airtime!
