Penalised for something beyond anyone's control

Eginning of June 2013 I took my N8 Nokia phone to vodacom village square in randfontein as it all of a sudden wasn't charging. on the 28th i got a message that it was ready for collection. I went to village square on the 4th of July only to be told it wasn't there. Mathapelo then phoned Fourways only to be told that they were waiting for Nokia to give them feedback since the phone master board or something like that was damaged. I left the store but phoned Vodacom Midrand & was told that if that's the case, then my phone won't be fixable but unfortunately i must still continue with my contract since i have a sim card. I was told the N8 phone does that & unfortunately it's a technical thing & that's it.

i feel this is unfair on me since this damage is beyond any human control & I feel after all these years being with vodacom this is inappropriate and wrong. why must I continue to pay for a handset that is damaged & can't be fixed. I've been loyal to vodacom for so many years but i guess this is my cue to leave & find another network. I've stomached a lot of nonsense from vodacom but this, takes the cake. thanx but no thanx to vodacom & Nokia. can't wait for my other contract 2 end
