Unfair charges and bad service

I had taken my cell phone in for repairs in the begining of February 2013 and before handing it in i asked the sales person if my phone was still under warrenty and she said yes and i asked if i would be charged for repairs and she said no. Therefore i gave the phone in for repairs and after 3 weeeks the repairs department phoned me and told me that the repairs is gona cost me over R400 so i told her that i was told that this phone was still under warrenty and she said it is not, so i told her that i cann't afford to repair this phone and that she must please send my phone back without repearing it. But Before i did that i asked her if i would be charged if i refuse to repair the phone and if they send it back without repearing it and she told me no there will be no charge at all to me. But with my April bill i received an invoice for - R456 for repairs to my phone. So i went to the store in hillcrest and they assured me that i will receive a refund cause they said that it was a mistake and that i cann't be charged if i didnt repair the phone so they sent 2 e-mails to head office for refunds. And i also have been e-mailing customer servive regarding this problem but no joy.
