My MTN contract was due to expire end of June, so I asked to have the contract cancelled at the end of the 24 months. Come July, my number does not work anymore. I call the call centre on July 1st, and find out that they have cut me from the network. I ask them to correct this as I need my number, I just wanted my contract to end. I got a reference number and got told that it would be sorted out withing 2-24 hours. Come the next day (36 hours later) still no service. Call again and get told a supervisor will speed up the process and get a new reference number. A week later with no communication from MTN as to progress, STILL no service and when I call on the 9th July, I find out that they have given my number (which I use for work) to another person!!
Now they say they will have to see if they can get my number back and gave me a another reference number!! Reference numbers that nobody asks for or uses whenever you call back!!
How do I get my number back?!?! Terrible service and just a terrible system that mtn is holding on to. I thought their customer service was better than this and that they would want to keep customers.
