Last month I changed banks and forgot to inform MTN. During the month my internet stopped working which is when I realized why, but it was late into the month, so I decided to just pay double the following month, which I did and gave them my new bank details to debit me. I was told it would take 2 days to reconnect me. After 3 days it was still not working, so I called and was told I have to pay R450 reconnection fee?? This was not explained to me at point of sale, and was also not explained to me when I made the late payment. If I knew about a "reconnection fee" I would not have waited until the following month to pay, I would have paid immediately - and why didn't they tell me this at the branch when I made payment?? MTN failed to inform me of this TWICE, and their response is "I'm sorry". I made one mistake and I'm told that mistake will cost me R450. They make TWO mistakes and get away with "I'm sorry"? Can I say I'm sorry and get reconnected?? I do not have R450 PLUS the monthly subscription, so what is the solution? I will not pay monthly when my internet is not connected, what is the point? My monthly subs is R300 but reconnection is R450?? That's ridiculous!
