In December I applied for Cell C's iPhone5 special. I was told that my application was successful and that I would receive my new phone within two weeks of 2 January 2013. On 2 January I received an SMS to say my order had been issued and I was given a reference number (SPI002751920). When I called the customer service call centre (084 145) today, I was told that there is a shortage of stock and that they cannot tell me when I will receive my new phone.
My problem is that I cancelled my existing cell phone contract in December, after I was told that my application with Cell C was successful and that I would receive my new phone within two weeks of 2 January 2013. I am now on a pre-paid contract with my current provider and, as I use my cell phone extensively for work, this is proving extremely expensive. I am losing money because of the delay in Cell C delivering my new phone.
I would like to know how Cell C can advertise an iPhone special when, in fact, it does not have any stock. And how can Cell C's call centre sales staff promise delivery by a certain date, when it does not have any stock?
Regards
Paul
