What am I paying for?!?!

Not long ago I had a problem with Telkom canceling my ADSL line. Again, I have a problem that has occured before and that is that my telephone line has been down for days. The time before was when they made some telecommunications 'switch' here in Durban North. So I want to know what I'm paying for if I have had no service for several days... and on more than one occasion.

I went to Telkom Gateway to find out what the issue is, and besides getting service from the consultant, the chap I spoke to on the phone wasn't very helpful. He basically told me that it was a general fault in the area, and no certain indication of when my line will be active.

This is not on and am on the verge of canceling my account with Telkom.
