It gives me great displeasure to leave this complaint.
A Telkom rep contacted me unexpectedly, but much to my surprise, on Friday afternoon.
Very kindly and much to my appreciation, she organized for a contractor to pull a telephone line into my unit (I reside in a complex).
On Saturday morning, the friendly contractor arrived as scheduled.
He removed a covering and ensured access to the telephone line for Telkom's installation team.
Unfortunately, while removing the cover, he pulled a significant amount of paint away from the wall.
I can understand that the painters may have painted in such a manner as to seal the cover shut, but being a contractor, I feel that more care should have been taken when removing the cover e.g. using a Stanley knife to cut around the cover before removing it.
As a lessee, I will now need to cover the cost of repainting the area around the cover.
A pity that good service is balanced through poor delivery thereof.
