CHARGE & LEAGAL STEPS FOR EXPIRED CONTRACT

My wife had a contract which expired in July 2012. She did not want to renew this contract and we went to the MTN shop in Malelane and informed them that we do not want to renew the contract. They told us that we just need to cancel the debit order at the bank, FNB, which we did. Now after a year my wife receive a charge from a legal company who claim over R3000 and sms that keep on telling her she did not pay. I did contact the legal company and they informed me that I need to speak to the legal department at MTN, which I did and I spoke to Kamo on the 26 June 2013. I explain to him and he informed me that he will inform the account department about this and solve the problem. Two days later today my wife received another sms informing her that she must pay. They threaten her to be black listed.
MTN... BAD!!!
