We moved to an area where there is no 8ta coverage.
I cancelled my contract on 20 February, the attendant at the Telkom Direct store in Vredenburg falsely let me to believe that there will be no cancellation fee as they (8ta) could no longer provide the service to us.
End of March an amount of R753 was deducted from my account. I went to the store asking why, they put me through to their call centre they explained it was a R800 cancellation fee for early termination the R47 discount is pro-rata for the remaining days of February.
On 31 May, more than 2 months after I paid this unexpected cancellation fee, they deducted a further R103.25 from my account as a cancellation fee.
At the Telkom Direct store in Strand they put me through to the call centre again. I spoke to Nokuthula Mguni and after her service was not satisfactory I asked to speak to her manager.
Belinda Ndoro her manager wrote me this e-mail:
Good Day Mr Endemann,
As discussed telephonically your refund case reference is 6074790.
We have requested for you to be refunded an amount of R103.25 as we already received a termination penalty charge fee from you of R800.
