After trying many times to get through to Telkom by pressing the confusing series of numbers required, I have had very pleasant dealings with people in the cal center. Pearl, Kwanda, and Zanele, were all polite and helpful, as was the technician that visited my house this morning. My line was activated very soon after I put in the order. (Now I await to see how long the ADSL line takes to activate.)
My advice: Cut out as many of the call center automated voice options as possible and put people directly through to a real call center operator. They know what they are doing and the peace of mind you get from speaking to a real human makes the entire process much more pleasurable.
I hope that all my future dealing with Telkom will be as pleasant and smooth.
