VODACOM INCOMPETENCE

On the 2nd of January 2013 I received an sms from vodacom to say that my account had not been paid. I realised that the reason it had not come off my credit card was because I'd received a new credit card. I called Vodacom immediately. I provided the necessary information to update my account and was assured that all was in order. I received an sms thereafter that stated that my subscriber details had been updated.

Yesterday, 17th January, I realised that i was unable to make calls, use sms's, emails etc. I called vodacom to enquire what the problem was. I was informed that my account is in arrears. I was told that there is no record on their system to state that I had updated my account details. When I stated that I had received an sms confirming the update, I was told that no such sms was sent! Did I imagine reading the sms???

I was told that Vodacom would contact me within 24 working HOURS! As such I will not have use of my cell phone from Friday til possibly Monday! This is pathetic service! Considering that this is a mess up on the part of Vodacom and I now have no use of my phone for 4 days, I am livid!
