Dear Telkom
My mom recently moved to a one bedroom flat after my father died. Moving the telephone and number was of course important, and arranging this over the internet was a huge convenience. The telephone even got moved quicker than than quoted 4 week waiting period, which my mom was very thankful for.
We picked up our "free" cordless phone from our nearest Telkom office, and the phone has worked wonderfully since.
My mom got the phone bill this month and it listed a fee for the "free" cordless phone of over R300. Nice one, Telkom. My mom phoned Telkom and it was confirmed that the phone was in fact not FREE.
Telkom's own website [URL Removed] still lists the words "Free cordless telephone when you apply online".
Can anyone explain what the above sentence means and how free = a R300 expense to a widow on a pensioner's budget?
