Technical support on mobile phones

I powered off my 4s but couldn't switch it back on later. Called the main customer care centre and was told there was no one to help with that type of enquiry and I should take my phone in for repair. My nearest branch is Boksburg - about 15 Kms away since they closed their Benoni branch. I called them and was given the same response that there is no one who could even give me an idea as to what to try.

I then tried the apple site for trouble shooting and within 2 minutes, after following their tips, my phone was up and running.

Why can a service provider, like Nashua Mobile, not have a department to help with this kind of problem. I'm sure the answer is going to be that they have too many brands of phone to be able to cover the scope of questions but that not good enough when they are the suppliers of the various brands.

As an older person and not technically mined - Maybe I expect too much!!!
