In February on 2013 I took out a new contract with Vodacom in terms of which I received an iphone. On my previous contract I had a blackberry. After receiving around 3 accounts it came to my attention that I was over charged in the amount of approximately R100. (My account should be R850 and it was approximately R940). After enquiries I was informed that this is due to the fact that Vodacom was charging me for BIS services. I was informed that I should have asked the consultant to remove this service upon me taking out the new contract.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I was being charged for services that was not being rendered and could not possibly be rendered due to the fact that I received an iphone.
After this came to light I was informed by numerous friends and colleagues that they were done-in on a similar fashion.
I therefore have no doubt that Vodacom is aware of the problem and it is my opinion that they are blatantly ignoring the problem in order to more customers.
