In March 2013 I converted my wife's prepaid Cell C account to a contract. I received no account until I requested this on 16 May 2913, with the expected contract cost being deducted at the end of April. I was horrified to note that the current amount due was almost double the contracted amount. Upon phoning Cell C I was informed that there were two subscriptions added to the account, one being from OPERA INTERACTIVE for the amount of R6.15 per day.
I was not aware of subscribing to any service from them, nor did I receive any value for the amounts charged.
Cell C gave me the phone number for Opera Interactive. I have tried ten times today (17 May 2013) to call them from 8 am but get a message that all their operators are busy. I then sent an email to [Email Removed] and received an automated reply that the matter will be looked into.
I consider OPERA Interactive to be immoral and invasive. They do this with the knowledge of Cell C.
My complaint with Cell C is twofold: they allow company's such as this to operate, and that I have a clear cap on my account of the contract price of R400 but they allow this to be exceeded by a clear spam.
