I had previously purchased two separate Cell C dongles; in 2011 and 2012. Both of those worked well. This year I purchased a further 2GB sim. I have, however, had a terrible experience on this occasion in that:
- Connectivity is unreliable. Most of the time I cannot even conduct simple google searches;
- 3G is hardly ever accessible;
- The internet is extremely slow.
When I called Cell C to find out what the problem might be the attendant informed me that Cell C was having certain difficulties in relation to serious network problem and also as a result of traffic. He informed me that the matter would be cleared up soon but he did not commit to a date because he said that he had not been informed of that yet.
The fact is that I paid R1 299 for a sim card (from Game in Rosebank) that does not even give me internet access most of the time.
I sent a letter to Cell C on 11 April 2013 asking them to let me know (a) what difficulties Cell C is currently facing and (b) when the difficulties will be cleared up. They have not had the courtesy of responding to date.
I have heard, in general, that Cell C provide a shoddy internet service.
I feel that I need an explanation and a refund
